I recently came across a video with New York Times best-selling author, Joe Dispenza, and it deeply resonated with me. His insights, both in the video and his book, “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself“, have had a meaningful impact on my perspective and have challenged my thinking in many ways. I’ve adapted some of his most powerful ideas here, and I am hoping they can add value to your life as well.
The truth is, we have the power to transform our lives and shape our reality. It all starts with 3 simple yet powerful principles that inform our actions: relax, trust, and expect. Let’s unpack how these ideas can redefine the way you think, feel, and live.
1. Relax: The Secret To Letting Go
Most of us rush through life, stressed and trying to control every detail. But real progress begins when we let go. Letting go doesn’t mean not taking any action. It has to do with what is going on mentally while we take action.
When you relax, you:
- -Calm your mind and body.
- -Open yourself to new possibilities.
- -Create the mental clarity needed for solutions to emerge.
Relaxation clears the mental clutter that blocks focus and creativity. Whether through meditation or simply taking deep breaths, relaxation allows you to:
- -Visualize your goals clearly.
- -Feel the emotions of success, health, or fulfillment as if they’ve already happened.
- -Reframe challenges as opportunities for growth.
Holding onto problems too tightly leaves no room for solutions. Relaxation isn’t laziness—it’s strategic surrender, signaling: “I’m ready for something better.”
2. Trust: Let The Current Carry You
Trust is where you align yourself with the natural flow of life. It’s the art of flowing with the current in a river instead of trying to swim upstream. Don’t fight against the current, flow with it, tapping into a deeper intelligence—the universe, God, Source, or whatever term resonates with you.
When you trust:
- -You stop fighting against what “is” and accept that life is unfolding for your highest good.
- –You release the need to micro-manage every detail, allowing room for guidance and synchronicity.
- -You become more attuned to opportunities and solutions that align with your goals.
3. Embracing Your Inner Creator
Change doesn’t have to take years. By relaxing and trusting, you put yourself in a state where expectations can fuel transformation.

It goes beyond thoughts; it’s also about your energy, or vibration. Emotions like joy, gratitude, and peace emit higher frequencies. When you deliberately choose to feel these uplifting emotions, you attract experiences that match them.

- -Pause & Breathe: Take a deep breath when you catch yourself stressing or worrying.
- -Ask: “What would I think if I believed everything was working out perfectly?”
- -Feel: Let this new, more positive thought sink into your body.
- -Gratitude: When you appreciate what you already have, you pave the way for more blessings to arrive. This practice elevates your vibration and leaves you more open to receiving new opportunities.
You can’t just do this once and expect everything to change overnight. Make relaxation, trust, and expectation a daily habit. Then keep your eyes open for signs, coincidences that confirm you’re on the right track.
5. Inspired Action vs. Forced Action
You might wonder, “Isn’t taking action important?” Absolutely—but there’s a difference between inspired action and forced action. Forced action comes from stress, fear, or desperation. Inspired action feels like flow. You’re not pushing; you’re allowing. It doesn’t mean there’s no effort; it means your effort feels aligned with a bigger vision.
Inspired action follows naturally when you trust. You’ll notice opportunities, meet the right people, and feel nudges to take steps that actually excite you. Trust doesn’t mean you sit around and hope success knocks on your door; it means you’re open to inspired guidance and ready to act on it. For things to happen you must be in a process.
