Mr. Tony Ragoonanan of V Formation, Training and Development was the facilitator of the Holy Name Convent Staff professional day on Wednesday 29th August 2012. This day launched the academic year 2012-2013 and was geared at exploring the concept of leadership and the values and purpose of the institution.
Mr. Ragoonanan single-handedly delivered a well-conceptualized and presented a workshop that maintained the interest of all involved from start to finish, motivated all to participate actively and certainly achieved the objectives that were clearly explained at the start. He was highly prepared with well-chosen visual support. His slide presentations were at once visually appealing and informative and his handouts contained relevant material that aptly enhanced his oral presentation.
As a presenter, Mr. Ragoonanan was extremely articulate and able to make a direct connection to his listeners while demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. He was able to listen well to questions and comments and respond immediately and cogently. He was very confident without being pedantic and maintained full command of the approximately 50 persons present.
The content of the workshop was relevant and well adapted to the needs of and context in which participants operated without falling into clichés. This was delivered in a highly interactive manner with a variety of activities to cater to the different learning styles of the participants.
It is often said that teachers who are accustomed to being presenters, make the most difficult audience. This has often been the case at workshops where teachers, many of whom are involved in clinical supervision of their colleagues’ teaching styles, can be highly critical of presenters and are capable and in fact trained to pick apart faulty delivery. However, all were in high praise of the program presented by Mr. Ragoonanan. Many even expressed that it was one of the best and most original and most engaging workshops they had attended and were enthusiastic about further collaboration with Mr. Ragoonanan.
It is therefore with great pleasure that I endorse Mr. Ragoonanan as an excellent training facilitator to any organization. It is my belief that the positive impact made by his presentation to Holy Name Convent will be experienced by any institution with which he collaborates.
